On display at this exhibition are some 120 of the works of Yuzo Saeki, whose unique painting style, with its exquisite figurative sense, still impresses his devotees. There are also 15 works by Utrillo and other painters who associated with Saeki in Paris.

"National Treasures of Miidera Temple"
Special Exhibition "National Treasures of Miidera Temple"
Miidera Temple is one of the most famous in the Kinki region and was known to be much loved by Fenollosa. On display are some 190 items (including about 60 works of National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties), associated with the Buddhist monk Enchin, such as drawings and secret statues of Buddha, from the Miidera Temple's collection. They are usually close to the public. There are several magnificent pictures on sliding doors, painted by Kano Mitsunobu, son of Kano Eitoku and painter patronised by Nobunaga and Hideyoshi. These commemorate the 400th anniversary of the artist’s death.

This exhibition features the gold-lacquered wedding furniture of Daimyo, the feudal lords of the Edo Period, together with masterpieces of inro, netsuke, Chinese sculpture and calligraphy.
