The National Museum of Ethnology "Minpaku" (06-6876-2151)

The National Museum of Ethnology (Minpaku) is a cultural anthropological research center and museum all in one. Its permanent exhibition consists of two categories: regional and cross-cultural. The regional exhibitions cover 9 regions of the world; and cross-cultural exhibitions consist of music and language. Visitors can enjoy viewing various world cultures. Special and temporary exhibitions with particular themes take place regularly.

Special Exhibition
"SELF and OTHER: Portraits from Asia and Europe"

"How to identify oneself and others, and to accept each other in Asia and Europe". Changes of appearance are portrayed in various figurative works depicting the expressiveness of the human body in portraits, sculptures, daily goods and photographs. This opens a world travel exhibition organized by galleries and museums in 18 Asian and European countries.

Minpaku Weekend Salon: A Chat with the Researchers

*The salon will be held on Sundays in general, excluding free admission days and those on which events such as research presentations and film showings take place.
*The timetable is subject to modification. Participation in the salon is free of charge to those visiting the museum.
