HYOGO PREFECTURAL MUSEUM OF ART (078-262-0901)

Designed by the world-renowned architect Tadao Ando, the building of Hyogo Prefectural Museum itself is known as an artwork. Exhibitions include permanent exhibitions mainly by artists who have connections with Hyogo, and special exhibitions of famous artists and of unique concept. Not only fine arts, but also various artistic events of cinema, music, fashion and classic performing arts are held.

Special Exhibition
"Marc Chagall a poet of colors"

Marc Chagall was one of the great artists of the 20th century. This exhibition has been organized thanks to the support of Moscow’s Tretyakov Museum and of the Chagall family in Paris. In addition to seven murals for the Jewish Theater, which represent the culmination of his artistry, some 150 other paintings, block prints and tapestries are on display.

In celebration of the Japan-Brazil Year of Exchange, the art of the Brazilian State of Parana, on the other side of the world, will be represented by the works of three Brazilian artists.
