Paris was transformed into a modern city by the building of new bridges across the River Seine, by the creation of parks and fountains and by the construction of the Eiffel Tower, which was completed for the Exposition Universelle in 1889.The exhibition shows how new styles of urban landscape and pictures of people in Paris were painted by artists who were either born in or moved to Paris.
